Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is gearing up to be one of the biggest, and most important movies in the entirety of the MCU’s Phase Four. The character himself will of course be pivotal in the upcoming multiversal war.

However, since the beginning of Phase Four there have been two big events that seemed worthy of his attention that he has seemingly ignored. Firstly, when Wanda took an entire town hostage and evolved into the legendary Scarlet Witch, Strange left her to get on with it, and now it seems as though he is ignoring the Ten Rings as well.

Wong was incredibly interested in the artefacts, as their power was felt all the way in Kamar-Taj when Shang-Chi first used them, yet he couldn’t find any existing record of them in the extensive mystical library. These things are incredibly powerful, and clearly very dangerous in the wrong hands, so surely he would have sought the opinion of the Sorcerer Supreme?

Instead however, Strange was nowhere to be seen. Based on the timeline of the movies, it could be that he is already dealing with the multiverse in New York and doesn’t have time for much else, or could it be something more sinister, involving the evil version of Doctor Strange that has just appeared in What If…?
