Sharknado 2: The Second One - 14 Awesomely Ridiculous Moments
11. Subway Product Placement
After Sharknado became such a hit over the social media channels, companies began to line up to get in on the shark-infested action, and the company who likely stumped up most of the movie's budget is Subway, whose product is prominently featured throughout the mayhem. Subway is most gratuitously featured during the subway attack sequence (aptly enough), when Jared the Subway Guy (from the American Subway commercials) is sat in front of a Subway sign eating a sub and sucking on a Subway drink, before he turns to the overweight guy sitting next to him and quips, "You should really be eating fresh too, you know." As if this wasn't enough, in several scenes throughout the latter half of the movie, Subway advertisements can be spotted around New York City. One scene (pictured on the right) lingers on a Subway poster on the side of a bus, and we can see a number of Subway billboards during all the chaos. Given the movie's minuscule budget and the tongue-in-cheek nature of the product placement, it doesn't seem quite as bad as when, say, Michael Bay does it. Still, don't watch this movie on an empty stomach.
