Shazam!: 7 Reveals From The New Teaser

Which leads us to one of the other surprises of the teaser; how much the action looks like it's taking a page straight out of the Snyder handbook.

At this point, the history between Zack Snyder and the DCEU feels more complicated and convoluted than a daytime soap opera. After kicking the universe off with Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman, Snyder served as something of the leading creative figure behind much of the first round of films. That is, until they unanimously received negative reviews and a mixed-at-best reception from audiences. As a result, WB fired him off of stealth-fired him off of Justice League after most of the film had already been completed, claiming that it was a mutual decision.

This led to Joss Whedon coming in, reshooting the majority of Justice League, and every Snyder fan signing petitions begging WB to release the 'Snyder Cut'. Since then, Snyder has been throwing a handful of shade at WB and DC on social media, frequently, and apparently James Wan even had to seek out his assistance on Aquaman in secret to keep WB from preventing it? It's all very strange.

And while Shazam! looks like a complete tonal opposite of Snyder's work in the franchise, the action shots of Shazam and Dr. Sivana fighting do look straight out of Man of Steel. Seeing as Wan and Momoa were very clear about Snyder still being an integral part of this universe to them, it looks as though his influence may also play a part in Shazam!.
