Shazam!: 7 Reveals From The New Teaser

After making an immediately show-stopping splash in the first trailer, the new teaser showcases small but potent bits of actor Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman and further teases why he may wind up stealing the whole film out from underneath the title hero.

Originally introduced as a spin-off side-character in the comic books, Freddy Freeman was actually a superpowered hero in his own right. Referred to as Captain Marvel Jr. at the time, Freeman was essentially just another version of Shazam, only he still physically looked the same even after invoking the magical phrase. Decades later, the character was incorporated more regularly into Shazam! comics, often serving as a sidekick.

While the movie version of Freeman is handicapped, just as his comic book-counterpart starts off as, it remains to be seen if he will get to fight alongside Billy Batson in this film. However, this teaser does make it clear that the relationship between the two will play a vital role in the film.

The final bit of the teaser with Billy and Freddy attempting to find a lair for themselves is side-splittingly hysterical, thanks to the insane comic chemistry between Zachary Levi and Jack Dylan Grazer. If the film can capture even half of this energy throughout, audiences are in for a real treat.
