7. Death By Cake - Your Host
Your Host is a pretty unremarkable sub-Saw slasher flick save for a typically committed performance from Jackie Earle Haley as Barry Miller, a serial killer who puts his victims through a sick series of game show rounds before killing them.
Most of the subsequent deaths are rather lacking in invention, but the movie absolutely saves a nauseating banger for the very end, when poor Anita (Ella-Rae Smith) is shuffled off her mortal coil.
Barry brings out a cake, leaving Anita terrified that he's put a knife inside and will shove her face-first into it. Well, she was half-right, as Barry does pie-face Anita into the cake, yet it initially appears to be a totally harmless gag.
A few moments later, though, Anita's face starts to burn, and Barry reveals that he doused the icing with an acidic compound, leaving Anita screaming in agony as her face is melted away and she's turned blind.
Anita continues to squirm in pain before finally dying from her injuries, in what's nothing if not an impressively unpleasant and creative death scene for a low-budget horror flick.
