Sigourney Weaver: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked
4. Helen Hudson - Copycat (1995)
A criminal profiler that suffers from chronic agoraphobia due to a prior incident, Weaver's performance as Helen Hudson in Copycat could easily be forgotten when glancing at the actor's filmography. However the psychological crime thriller and indeed Weaver's performance is the biggest uncovered treasure that so few people reading this have probably seen. When a new spate of murders start happening in her home-town, Weaver's Hudson finds herself in the situation of being a reluctant consultant for the police in an effort to solve the growing number of murders. Confined to her apartment and finding herself becoming part of the murderous plot of the serial killer, Weaver's performance as an anxious and reluctant criminal profiler is a treat to watch. The feelings of isolation and hopelessness that Weaver displays as her character pull you in almost immediately and you won't be able to rest until the film reaches its satisfying conclusion.
