3. Adele Has Recorded The Theme Song

One of the worst-kept open secrets in recent times, last November, British songstress supremo Adele let it slip on a chat show that she'd been in the studio recording 'a theme' which immediately set the online forums into a tailspin and simultaneously spreading the rumours that she'd penned a new Bond tune, which ultimately proved to be correct. The song, 'Skyfall', is at once, both a roaring, heavy and anthemic tune and a delicate, deep-throated ballad which are rife on Adele's sophomore album '21'. It's definitely one of the better Bond tunes in recent years; despite previous attempts by producers to make the song as edgy and current as possible, 'Skyfall' harkens back to the times when Shirley Bassey or Sheena Easton were recording strong vocal tracks that were supported by the instrumental, rather than overpowering it as in recent attempts. Adele being the singer also adds the forementioned 'Pride of Britain' theme that is permeating popular culture throughout an iconic 2012 - the best of current British music (as Adele has proven herself to be with phenomenal global sales and critical acclaim) accompanying possibly the most iconic and beloved ongoing film series ever.
