Spectre: 10 Awesome Things We Learned About Bond 24

1. Christoph Waltz Not Confirmed As Blofeld

So the announcement gave Bond 24 a title, a car, a cast and a crew, but one essential announcement was deviously left out, no doubt intended to spark heavy internet debate. A couple of weeks ago news broke that Christoph Waltz was set to star in Spectre, which quickly transformed into rumours that he'd be playing Blofeld. The reveal of the movie's title (Ernst Stavro is the head of SPECTRE) only further stoked this, but when the two-time Oscar winner was brought on stage his character, unlike any of the others, wasn't given a name. Early reports have him playing a ski instructor, which is the most blatant form of misdirection since Return Of The Jedi went into production as Blue Harvest. If Waltz is going to be involved in the Austrian sequences, then that resolutely points towards him being the big bad - in On Her Majesty's Secret Service Blofeld's sitting comfy in his Alpine fortress. However, there is another possibility. Did Mendes choose to keep things quiet after the truth leaked, or is this actually meant to keep focus on Waltz and away from Andrew Scott, who is really playing the scarred mastermind (wouldn't be the first time Scott's played an iconic villain under everyone's noses)? Barring set leaks, it's probably going to be a long time until anyone finds out. What are your thoughts on the new announcement? Are you excited for Spectre, or does it have no hope of beating Skyfall? Have your say in the comments below.
