Spectre: 7 Most Compelling Pieces Of Evidence That Christoph Waltz Is Blofeld

7. The Outfit

First of all, let's get to grips with the basics: that outfit. It would be outright silly to ignore the fact that some of the clothing worn by Christoph Waltz in the Spectre trailers wasn't reminiscent of Blofeld's own classic villain garb. Clearly the filmmakers intended for comparisons to be made, though, which only serves to make the whole "Is Waltz Blofeld?" thing even more confusing for fans. It seems unlikely that they'd try to keep his identity a secret and still show him wearing this outfit... doesn't it? Whatever: the iconic costume worn by an array of actors throughout the '60s and '70s Bond installments is clearly being acknowledged by way of the outfit that the enigmatic "Franz Oberhauser" can be glimpsed wearing. The colours are different, yes, but the design of the thing is very similar. This could just be the sum of an in-joke, of course; Mendes' evil way of toiling with fans and audiences whilst still maintaining that Christoph Waltz isn't Blofeld. We say it's a hint that he is - one being used as a Bond-like double bluff.
