Spectre: 8 Major Reveals From Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall Video

4. What The Writing Means

We've known what the title of Spectre's opening song obliquely referred to ever since it was announced - a scene first seen in the second trailer where James finds his own name scrawled on a list of dead MI6 operatives - but that moment's prominence has been greatly increased following the song's announcement. After putting a bit more focus on it in the recent final trailer, the official music video takes it up a notch, having Smith croon "the writing's on the wall" as Bond walks up to a wall with his name written on it. Oh you. However, it's only now in the music video that we've actually starting learn a little bit more about this mysterious warning/threat may mean. There's a few more shots of the scene here, which reveal that there's an arrow below James' name pointing to a name/names on the left column. So what could it all be about? Is Bond responsible for the deaths of these agents? Is this somehow linked to the hard drive lost in Skyfall? Is it S.P.E.C.T.R.E. messing with him, or even trying to get him to do a hit? So many questions, and all we know is that Bond is going to "risk it all."
