Spectre: 8 Major Reveals From Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall Video
3. S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Has A Thing For Classic Cars
In last week's final trailer we saw that S.P.E.C.T.R.E. had a secret base hidden in the middle of the Moroccan desert, a major reveal of something we'd had nary a hint at before. The music video doesn't show that much more of this location, aside from this shot (with expectedly beautiful landscape cinematography) of a car driving through the desert, a reverse of the approach to the base. Now seeing the car from the front, it's clearly a rather old design (I don't know cars, sorry), implying a throwback to the early days of the series. Using a classic car may just have been done to give the Morrocan finale a timeless feeling, but there's plenty of more plot-imperative elements it could be opening up - has S.P.E.C.T.R.E. been operating for longer than expected, perhaps even all the way back to the sixties (continuity be damned)?
