Spectre: 8 Things Sam Mendes Doesn't Want You To Know

6. Christoph Waltz Isn't Really Franz Oberhauser

While official Spectre publicity has offered up character names and the corresponding actors, there's been little in the way of info regarding who those characters actually are and what they represent to the plot of Spectre. The Bond-related Sony leaks changed that.

While it's officially been said that Christoph Waltz is playing a character named Franz Oberhauser, the Spectre script leaked in the Sony dump claims he also goes by an alias: Heinrich Stockmann. The leaked script reveals Bond meets this man - the head Spectre - fairly early on, and considering Heinrich Stockmann and Franz Oberhauser are names that don't really mean anything to anyone, this shouldn't really be considered too much of a spoiler.

But here's where it gets interesting (actual spoiler coming up). Along with the leaked script, attached were notes from producers which repeatedly made reference to Waltz playing Blofeld (one particularly notable comment: "This is Blofeld after all"); it could be that Sony, fearing a script leak, simply changed the name to Heinrich Stockmann, not figuring hackers would get hold of the notes and emails explicitly referencing Blofeld, too.
