Spider-Man 3: 12 Huge Rumours That Would Change Everything

6. Venom Will Appear In It

There have been so many long-standing rumours that Venom will appear in a future Spider-Man film that it's beginning to feel like an inevitability at this point.

Sony technically own the rights to both characters but, since they have sole control over Venom and have agreed to share Spidey with Marvel, the possibility of this ever happening has been up for extensive debate for quite a long time. And after the overwhelmingly negative response to the studios' Venom in 2018, there are some who would rather it didn't happen. But the fact of the matter is that anything is possible after the new Spider-Man agreement.

Venom director Ruben Fleischer is convinced that a crossover between the two has always been the long-term plan, telling Fandom:

"That’s where it’s all going to lead... And that’s the exciting thing, because we changed the origin of Venom … in the comics, he evolved from Spider-Man but because of the Marvel-Sony thing we weren’t able to that. And so the thing I think it’s building towards, and will be exciting to see, is when they actually do confront each other.

Sony's own Venomverse - as it's being called - has us all talking about it, intrigued to know whether or not it takes place within the MCU. While Morbius' recent trailer suggests that this might be the case, a Venom appearance in Spider-Man 3 would be the official confirmation we've all been waiting for - joining the two properties and perhaps even setting up a new future for Tom Holland's Spidey should he be forced to leave the MCU after that film.
