2. Scorpion Is In (And Will Return)

The Rumour

When Michael Mando was cast in the film and was left nameless on all of the cast lists, it looked like he was going to be playing a major character in a small role - possibly seeding a more substantial role in future movies. The general consensus seemed to suggest that he was going to be playing Carnage, but then when he was revealed for the Venom stand-alone, the rumour took a serious dent.

It turns out that he's actually playing Mac Gargan, as confirmed by the latest cast list. And that means he's none other than comic book villain Scorpion, who has been rumoured for the big screen before. Quite whether he'll get his suit on this time out remains to be seen.

Again, it seems odd that they'd cast someone like Mando in such a small part without a plan to bring him back later for more. This way they can effectively establish Gargan as a low-level goon, then have The Tinkerer perhaps develop him a Scorpion tech-led suit for the sequel.

And that's a big deal, because anyone who isn't excited about seeing more of Mando as a villain in the MCU doesn't know how to be excited properly.
