11. Donald Glover Is A Future Spider-Verse Hero

The Rumour

After years of campaigning (and seeing fans campaign on his behalf), Donald Glover was ultimately passed over to play Spider-Man (and specifically Miles Morales), but it looks like there's a fan-baiting connection in there.

It has finally been revealed that Glover is playing Aaron Davis, a name fans will recognise. He plays Ultimate hero The Prowler, of course, who began as a villainous cat burglar, but had his life turned around when Spider-Man intervened. He also happened to be bitten by a mutated spider while stealing tech from Oscorp.

So is The Prowler being set up for his own heroic turn in a future movie? Could this be his origin?

Rating: 7/10

It would certainly explain why Glover was cast in such a seemingly minor role. And the thieving origin does work with what we know about Homecoming's plot.

The only issue with the theory is that Kevin Feige has said that Spider-Man is the only Sony character who will be coming to the MCU. Then again, executives lie, and this could be a way of introducing The Prowler to the Sony Spider-Verse rather than the MCU.

It's well-known they need their own heroes, after all.
