11. J. Jonah Jameson Is In It

The Rumour: Considering that he's one of the most popular characters from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, it was only a matter of time before word spread suggesting that Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson would appear in the new film in some form, possibly with J.K. Simmons reprising his role.

The Truth: Nothing, zada, zip, likely because at just fifteen years of age Peter's really too young to be working as a photographer for the Bugle. Still, it would've been awesome to see Jameson, especially if played by Simmons, back in the frame in some other capacity, even if it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo.

As Simmons is now playing Commissioner Gordon in the DC Extended Universe, though, it looks like the best fans can hope for is a savvy new iteration of the iconic character, perhaps played by a woman.
