7. The Chameleon

Why It COULD Be Him

Chameleon has been one of the most hotly rumoured characters for Homecoming almost since the film was announced, with multiple leaks supposedly outing him. The most believable suggests we won't actually see him in his final form, but will instead see him become the villain to set up future appearances.

The fact that there are several actors yet to have their roles revealed could easily fit this possibility, but it's more another revelation from the LEGO sets that makes it particularly compelling. The other set revealed at the Toy Fair shows off a heist sequence with villains wearing Avengers masks, which would be a hell of a way to retell Chameleon's origin.

Just imagine, he comes into contact with the Chitauri tech that we know plays a big part in the film and is transformed into a real master of disguise. Or The Tinkerer develops him a cloaking costume that allows him to take any form...

Why It Might Not Be

He's a pretty far out character, for a start, and it would be a shame to introduce such a great villain as a minor supporting figure to start with. Unless of course Homecoming is being used as a sort of ground zero for the creation of lots of Spider-Man villains?
