Spider-Man: Homecoming - 8 Villains The Sequel Could Introduce To The MCU

Could Mister Sandman be the one to bring Tom Holland a nightmare or two in the Homecoming sequel?

Although it seems like only yesterday that Thomas Haden Church was failing to do justice to the character in 2007's Spider-Man 3, his long-running Sinister Six association means we cannot rule him out.

Flint Marko is a petty crook who gains the ability to manipulate sand and shapeshift following an accident on a beach which also happened to be a nuclear testing site.

Despite what Spider-Man 3 would have you believe, Sandman is not connected to the origin of Spider-Man, but he's a villain Spidey has never quite managed to shake off.

At one point, he actually headed up the Sinister Six, assembling a new version of the team to get revenge on Doctor Octopus for turning him into glass.

A shapeshifter would be an interesting addition to the MCU, but another tech-based villain would be more in keeping with the tone Homecoming has established.

Let's sweep Sandman into the 'maybe' pile for now.
