Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer - 10 Biggest Takeaways

5. Rounding Out The Sinister Six

If you thought Spider-Man 3 had too many villains, it could ultimately have nothing on No Way Home. A quick roll call so far puts the tally at three antagonists in Doc Oc, Electro, and the Green Goblin, but the trailer does hint at even more than that.

The moment that Electro's lightning strikes also heavily hints at the Sandman, who would be joining from Sam Raimi's franchise along with Otto Octavius. There is also a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment where, if you pause at just the right point, you can make out a lizard, not dissimilar from Rhys Ifans' Amazing Spider-Man villain, Dr. Curtis Connors.

This takes us up to a potential number of five villains, and yet, there will likely be more. It's not the Sinister Five is it? Surely the MCU wouldn't bring in five villains for No Way Home and not stretch to a sixth, right?

But who could this final member of the villainous team be? Mysterio died in Far From Home, but that's no reason to believe he is done with the MCU, however since Michael Keaton's Vulture is confirmed to be returning to screens in Morbius, he may be the stronger shout in terms of pre-existing MCU villains. Or how about a brand new villain? Someone like Silver Sable, or Mr. Negative? Aaron Taylor-Johnson has recently been cast as Kraven the Hunter, and he certainly wouldn't be the first actor to portray two different characters in the MCU.

Could Marvel Studios still spring one more big surprise in the villain department?
