Star Trek: 10 Best 'I'm Dead And I Know It' Moments

5. Romulan Pilot - The Die Is Cast

Star Trek Romulan
CBS

The unnamed pilot of Enabran Tain's Warbird was played by Wendy Schenker, and never before had a pair of Romulan eyes summed up a situation so clearly.

As the barrage of fire from the joint Tal Shiar/Obsidian Order completes its first volley, she reports there are no changes in lifeform readings on the planet's surface. Then, the proximity alarm begins to blare.

The mission to destroy the Founders of Dominion was a trap all along. Schenker's look of dumbfounded realization as one hundred and fifty Jem'hadar fighters arrive to surround them says it all - they've all been sent there to die, down to the last person.

She is quickly killed in the ensuing onslaught, yet there was next to no hope of any survivors ever escaping. In fact, Odo and Garak only survive thanks to the assistance of another Changeling, and the timely arrival of the USS Defiant. But in that last moment, just as Tain and Garak begin to realize the extent to which they've been tricked, it is Schenker's face that truly captures the enormity of just how screwed the entire fleet is.
