5. Leaving Spock On Genesis

Dare I question why one would take their best friend's dead body, and fire it off inside a torpedo tube onto a planet that was just barely created? A planet that for all intents and purposes James T. Kirk had no freaking clue what would come of it in the long-term. Something seemed just a little too premature about that decision for me, and maybe some of you as well? Another facet to this action is the mere fact he (Kirk) skipped over consulting Spock's parents first! I can see it now, Kirk flips open a comm channel in his quarters and calls up Sarek to say: Ah yeah, so Spock is dead and I want to just shoot his remains off to this planet we nicknamed Genesis, is that OK? I think we all know how that conversation would have ended. If only Kirk just held onto Spock's corpse a little longer, then his journey to Vulcan could have been a much more peaceful one. There would have been no altercation with the Klingons, and quite possibly the Enterprise wouldn't have exploded into a million pieces over Genesis as well. Oh my, what could have been.
