Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

Star Trek Freedom Class
CBS

The Freedom Class of Starship was a type of light frigate that saw action during the Battle of Wolf 359. It differed from standard Starfleet designs in that, instead of the usual dual nacelle design of warp drive section, it had a single nacelle, supported by a strut neck, swept back and below the saucer section.

The USS Firebrand, as it was dubbed, was designed and built by Gregory Jein Inc., for the Best of Both Worlds. It was one of several kit-bash ships designed for the Federation graveyard that the Enterprise-D discovers in the wake of the fight with the Borg, as led by Locutus.

To date, this broken hull remains the only on screen appearance of the Freedom Class - suggesting it wasn't a massively successful design in Starfleet's eyes!
