Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best
23. Olympic
The Olympic class medical ship was in service in an alternate version of the 2390's, with the USS Pasteur under the command of Captain Beverly Picard. The ship, like the old Daedalus class, featured a spherical primary hull. The secondary hull was deep, resembling the floating hospital that the ship effectively was.
The class of ship came into service in the prime timeline as well. Ensign Beckett Mariner served aboard an Olympic class vessel that sought shore leave at Deep Space Nine in the 2380's.
The ship featured a warp drive that had gone through a redesign, with the warp scale being amended. Speeds in excess of the previously-unachievable warp 10 were now a possibility, though it is likely that was still slower than the mutation-inducing ultimate speed.
The ship was definitely not designed for combat, as it was easily overpowered by two Klingon Negh'Var class vessels in that alternate timeline, with the crew rescued by the Enterprise-D.
