Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

Making its debut appearance in Star Trek: First Contact, the Sovereign class starship was the fastest and most powerful ship in the fleet. Owing to the destruction of the Enterprise-D during the events of Star Trek: Generations, this new Sovereign class ship was dubbed the Enterprise-E, and first saw action during the Borg Incursion of Sector 001.

The ship was put through its paces. After having been in service for a year prior to these events, it underwent assimilation in several key areas by the Borg though, following the death of the Borg Queen, these areas were repaired.

It suffered the loss of its warp core during the events in the Briar Patch, while the entire forward section of the saucer section was smashed backward after collision with the Reman Scimitar. Despite all of that, the Enterprise-E remained in service, highlighting the strength of the ship's design.

On the topic of design, it was sketched by John Eaves as one of his many contributions to Star Trek.
