Star Wars: 10 Actors' Roles That Ruin Their Classic Character

4. Samuel L. Jackson Is A Lispy Psychopath - Kingsman: The Secret Service

It’s not like it was a stretch for Jackson to portray the baddest, maddest, purple lightsaber wielding Jedi council member in the Star Wars universe, Mace Windu. That’s not by any means a criticism, the film going public can’t get enough of his trademark "I am Samuel L. M-F’ing Jackson: routine. While it was a shame that his character was thrown from a window so unceremoniously by Senator Palpatine, Windu did leave the soon to be Emperor with a face like a scrotum, so small victories I guess.

Despite his relatively short-lived time on screen, Mace Windu leaves a lasting impression; certainly more so than the glorified cannon fodder Revenge Of The Sith turns the remaining Jedi into. At the risk of my lack of faith becoming disturbing this force malarky seems pretty useless sometimes.

So what happens when Samuel L. decides to pretend he isn't a legitimately scary man?

Kingsman: The Secret Service provided him with an opportunity to display his range by wearing brightly coloured sweatshirts and lisping. While undoubtedly entertaining, it also takes the edge of Mr. Jackson's tough-guy persona. The haemophobic technology genius intent on ripping the society apart by turning the global population feral through mobile phone signals (seems legit) is at odds with Windu in every sense. Plus, after hearing Jackson’s goofy voice you can’t help but wonder how that would have played out in a council meeting.
