6. Rey Will Try To Turn Kylo Ren
In The Last Jedi, Daisy Ridley’s Rey spent the majority of the movie convinced that, despite watching Ben Solo murder Han Solo in cold blood, he could be switched back and lured away from Supreme Leader Snoke’s tight grip on him.
Barring the ending, the whole film actually focuses on Rey’s belief that she can emulate Luke Skywalker by turning a dark side user back to the light. She swears to Luke it’s possible during an angry exchange on Ahch-To before travelling to meet Kylo in person after numerous Force interactions. It nearly backfires spectacularly when it looks as if he will kill her on Snoke’s orders, only for Solo to slaughter his master instead.
The Last Jedi appeared to end with Kylo firmly set on staying dark, having made the decision to engage Luke in lightsaber combat. Even Leia seems to think he's gone and, given he is now the First Order leader, it would be a bold move if he was to suddenly switch sides. That would also be a move that would make the whole good vs bad theme entirely redundant.
Why Is It Big? If Rey turns Kylo, it would be a rehash of Return of the Jedi, when Luke turns Darth Vader. It would, however, be another example of Ben Solo following in the footsteps of his grandfather - something Star Wars purists, and ones angry with The Last Jedi, would no doubt love.
