Star Wars: 10 Big Kylo Ren And Rey Theories For Episode 9

5. Kylo Ren Will Try To Turn Rey

Adam Driver’s acting since taking on the role of Kylo Ren has been nothing short of outstanding and, in the Last Jedi, the 34-year-old delivers one of the series’ most memorable moments when he tries to convince Rey to leave everything behind and join him at the helm of the First Order. Not only are his words delivered with pinpoint emotional accuracy, but it also takes place directly after the phenomenal throne room scene, where they battle past Snoke’s guards.

Therefore, it is not unfeasible to think it could happen again. Rey refused to listen to his offer, but she has a sympathy towards the character that nobody else does. That alone suggests Kylo may yet to be able to change her mind, using their close relationship to convince her.

Another thing to consider is that Kylo has shown, at times, that he is not all-out evil. Like Rey towards him, he has a fondness for her, even if the exact nature of that relationship is yet to really be revealed. That means his character is not too nasty for Rey to completely shun.

Why Is It Big? Luke Skywalker resisted Darth Vader’s efforts to turn him – meaning it would be groundbreaking and new if Rey actually decided to turn. It would also make Daisy Ridley’s character the first female dark side user to be seen on the big screen.

Sport and Film. I love them both. And I'm extremely lucky to write about two of my biggest passions in life. Most of the time, I'm at the Daily Express newspaper writing about football, tennis and F1. But, when I'm out of there, I let my imagination run wild and pen down my thoughts on the film series' I love. WhatCulture gives me the chance to write about the movie industry - an industry I really care about. And for that, I'm extremely grateful. And hope you, if you're reading this, enjoy what I think about stuff.
