Star Wars: 10 Expanded Universe Stories They Should Definitely Adapt

3. I, Jedi

I, Jedi follows Corran Horn as he goes from Rogue Squadron ace to Jedi Knight to undercover pirate in an attempt to find his kidnapped wife. I, Jedi offers an outside view of some of the most iconic Expanded Universe material as Corran Horn builds himself into one of the galaxy's most dangerous individuals. His search for his wife compels him to leave Rogue Squadron and enroll in Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy to hone his untapped force powers. While at the academy he battles the spirit of Exar Kun at the Academy and becomes the man in charge when Skywalker is incapacitated. When he learns all he can at the Academy he uses his Corellian security training to infiltrate a pirate group where he is able to find where is his wife is. The adaption of I, Jedi would offer an alternative Jedi as the main protagonist of the novel while also getting to showcase Rogue Squadron as well as the training process at the Jedi Academy and getting to show Horn's life as an intergalactic pirate. The length of each respective process (both the Academy and his pirate career must be shown extensively) would make it particularly rewarding when Horn finally does find his wife. I, Jedi would be the best choice for a standalone film adaption of an Expanded Universe property from a story and filmmaking perspective.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
