2. Boba Fett, Wanted Dead or Alive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn_J425eo3Q Boba Fett is one of the most enduring and popular characters in the history of Star Wars. Despite his immense popularity Fett met a rather anti-climatic death when he was eaten alive in Return of the Jedi by The Sarlaac - or was he? According to a large percentage of the nerd community Fett does not die and in fact escapes the toothy gob of the creature from the Great Pit of Karkoon. Just because he isn't seen again on screen does not mean he's dead. In fact according to the mega popular collection of short stories 'Tales of the Bounty Hunters' Fett does indeed escape by blowing up the creature from inside and is later rescued by another Bounty Hunter. This gives the doubting Thomas' out there all the reason they need to claim he lives. Whether these stories are canon or not is a whole other debate that we can't be bothered to go into. Luckily the internet already has. One angry Fett hater took to the message boards to write:
"Who decided to bring Boba Fett out of the Sarlaac's mouth? That's really stupid and annoying! Why can't (he) just stay there and die?"
While another fan wrote:
Why on Earth would anyone kill off such a bad ass character in such a wimpy fashion?"
The fan in us hopes the exploding Sarlaac story is true. Maybe this is something that could be explored in the upcoming Disney spin-off's? But for now he is listed on Wikipedia as alive and well. Hurray.
