Although Admiral Ackbar is best known for his famous line, "It's a trap!", he was actually an important military leader and an essential member of the Rebel forces. But what does a freedom fighter do once the Empire has been defeated? In the case of Admiral Ackbar, he went on to serve as the Supreme Commander of the New Republic Defense Force for two decades. This puts him in a prime position to make an appearance as an integral part of the story rather than a simple wink-wink cameo, assuming that the new films feature any action sequences or military related subplots. All of our main characters are prominent defenders of the shaky new government, which makes Admiral Ackbar one of the most likely candidates to show up in the new films.
