Star Wars Episode 7: 10 Expanded Universe Stories That Should Be Used For Inspiration

7. Jedi Academy Trilogy

€œWhen gone am I, the last of the Jedi you will be€. Yoda uttered these words to Luke before he became one with the Force in Return of the Jedi. Much like we hung onto Obi-Wan€™s words in a A New Hope about the Jedi being the guardians of peace in the galaxy and heard about the Clone Wars, I feel the same holds true here. Luke IS the last of the Jedi and as fans we NEED to see the next generation being born. I always felt that Luke was stronger than Anakin and as the EU evolves over time and Luke becomes a Master, we see how strong he is€unfortunately that is not the case in these books. The Jedi Academy trilogy takes place around 7 years after Return of the Jedi. This trilogy tells the story of Luke€™s attempt at rebuilding the ranks of the Jedi Order by establishing a school or academy as the title suggests. In this trilogy we see that Luke still has a lot to learn as a Jedi and is basically learning as he goes along. Luke makes a number of mistakes and ultimately loses a student to the Dark Side. I would really like to see the early years of the Jedi Academy and the continued growth of Luke as a Jedi. As fans, it€™s important that we see his beginning journey as the Grand Master that he would become. We witnessed the destruction of the order at the hands of Darth Vader, how fitting would it be to see Luke take charge of its rebirth? Likelihood of being a film: 8
