Star Wars Episode 7: 10 Ways It Will Resemble JJ Abrams' Star Trek

2. Mysteries

Star Trek Into Darkness Pretty much everything J.J. makes is shrouded in secrecy, be it the enigma of the island in Lost, the creature's appearance in Cloverfield, or the identity of Benedict Cumberbatch's villain in Into Darkness. While Abrams will slowly drip-feed information to us over the next two years before the movie opens, expect him to hold plenty close to the chest, such that we'll go in with much to be surprised by as is the case in all of his ventures to date. The net nerds will be digging harder than ever before, but as Abrams has proven on high-profile projects like Lost, he always manages to stay one step ahead of the fanboys. While an Earth-shattering twist certainly isn't needed to make Episode 7 work, you can bet your bottom dollar that Abrams will have some twisty, tricky narrative chicanery in mind to make this perhaps the most thought-provoking, intelligent and surprising Star Wars flick yet.
