Star Wars: Episode 8 - 10 Major Twists That Could Shake The Galaxy

6. Finn Reverts To His Stormtrooper Programming

The more that I think about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the more that something doesn€™t seem to fit regarding John Boyega€™s Finn. Out of all The First Order€™s Stormtroopers, is he really the only one that€™s ever grown a conscience? And wasn€™t it a bit easy for him to steal a TIE fighter, escape, and join The Resistance? Is he truly free from his programming?

It might be considered a long shot, but it feels like there could be more to Finn than meets the eye. What if someone within The First Order wanted him to escape, in order for him to infiltrate enemy ranks and later take down The Resistance from within? What if Finn is a villain waiting to happen? Stranger things have occurred in sci-fi cinema.

This would raise a big question, though €“ who orchestrated Finn€™s crisis of conscience? It€™s hard to predict that one, but doesn€™t it seem like Gwendoline Christie€™s Captain Phasma went a little easy on him? She did allow him to wander around despite his noncompliance, and didn€™t put up much of a fight when he later cornered her and told her to lower the shields. Maybe she€™s just biding her time, and will reactivate Finn€™s Stormtrooper programming when the time comes to crush The Resistance once and for all€
