Star Wars: Episode 8 - 10 Major Twists That Could Shake The Galaxy
7. The Sith Are Back
In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey considered Luke Skywalker a myth. Similarly, the Sith Order had a legendary air to them. Sidious and Vader clearly inspired Snoke and Kylo, and the Knights Of Ren are seemingly acolytes of the Sith as well. Maz Kanata also mentioned the ancient order of evildoers at one stage; in a list of evil forms that shes witnessed across her lengthy lifespan.
Itd surely be a sizeable twist if the Sith Order resurged in Star Wars: Episode VIII, striking their own claim for control over the galaxy and clashing with The First Order in a big way. Again, there would be symmetry in this Luke and Rey represent the Jedi Order returning, so surely there must be Sith to match. This would enable Episode VIII to be a bigger spectacle, with more villains than the previous film.
There are a few ways in which this could work. Perhaps Benicio Del Toros character will be some sort of ancient Sith, returning after a lengthy absence to challenge the relocated Luke Skywalker. Or maybe itll be revealed that Snoke is a Sith after all, and that he has carried on the traditions and teachings of Darth Sidious (but perhaps with more than one pupil).
Potential returns for Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine have long been rumoured by fans, as well, not least because cloning is a process that had been perfected in the Star Wars universe. Id wager that these classic characters returning are less likely than a new Sith presence, though.
