8. What's This About A Political Edge?
Many of today's more dedicated
Star Wars fans first began their journeys into a galaxy, far, far away as children. Now, as adults, there's a good chance that, despite loving the full on adventurous nature of the original movies, we're going to be itching for a tad more added "substance" when it comes to these long-awaited prequel movies. That's to say, Lucas has hinted towards
Phantom Menace having some interesting, inherent political themes, all of which (we're sure) will help to build the
Star Wars universe in rich new ways that will help us to better understand our favourite fictional galaxy. To be fair, rumours of a plot based around "trade routes" hasn't exactly got this writer excited, but I'm certain that there's going to more to that rumour than meets the eye. A
Star Wars movie wouldn't
really be about trade routes or trade laws, would it? And George Lucas wouldn't be dumb enough that make movie, anyway, right?
