Star Wars: Episode VIII - 8 Things Fans Want (But Won't Get)

5. The Return Of Lando Calrissian

Despite the fact that Lando Calrissian was last seen in the company of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia at the end of Return Of The Jedi, he was nowhere to be found in The Force Awakens. He's never mentioned or discussed; for all the fans know, Lando tripped and hit his head the day after the second Death Star exploded and, like, died. There are rumours that actor Billy Dee Williams, now in his late seventies, will return to the fray in the upcoming Episode VIII, of course, but they're only that: rumours. There is less evidence surrounding Lando's return than there is evidence for a potential Lando resurgence. Disney haven't officially spoken out with regards to this matter, either, and given that the film is already in pre-production, you'd think we'd have heard about it by now if it was happening. As of December 2015, Williams hadn't been asked to return. It'd be great to see Lando Calrissian back in the saddle, of course, because he was an important character in Episodes V and VI. But you also get the sense that the studio are keen to move things forward without making too much of all the old characters; Han is dead, after all, and it seems fair to suggest that Princess Leia will only feature in a small capacity when it comes time for the next movie.
