Star Wars: Episode VIII - 8 Things That Definitely Shouldn't Happen

3. The Three Lead Protagonists To Spend Most Of Their Time Apart

One of the most irksome things about The Force Awakens concerned the fact that the three lead characters never spent any time as a trio. Whilst Rey spent time with Finn and Finn spent time with Poe, Poe never even met Rey. Which was kind of disappointing, to say the least. This really can't happen in Episode VIII, however, because it's essential that - in order for the franchise to cement these characters as a trio to rival Luke, Han and Leia - they need to spent a hefty amount of time in one another's company; they need to be able to build relationships and chemistry. It's not looking good for this particular aspect, however, given that Episode VII ended on a note that suggests Rey will begin her Jedi training with Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To. If that's the case, there's a good chance that Rey will be - once again - kept away from Poe, and the two won't have a proper opportunity to get acquainted.
