Fans were elated on Disney Investor Day when Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the longtime rumour that Lando Calrissian would be getting his own Disney+ series. Simply titled Lando, the upcoming show will give the notorious scoundrel some time in the limelight.

The series will be created by Justin Simien, writer and director of the film Dear White People and creator of the TV show of the same name. Kennedy describes Simien as "a massive Star Wars fan," which helps to prove that he's the right man for the job.

It's currently unclear which iteration of Lando the series will follow. Billy Dee Williams originated the role in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, and reprised the character in live action twice, once in Return of the Jedi and again in The Rise of Skywalker. However, Donald Glover played a younger version of the character for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The series could go in either direction, following Glover's Lando in the Original Trilogy era, or Williams' Lando in the Sequel Trilogy era. Or, through flashbacks, both iconic Lando actors could appear. Either way, exploring the Calrissian chronicles should be a fun time.
