6. The Saber Staff

The general assumption pre-trailer was that Daisy Ridley would be playing the daughter of Han and Leia - why else would you cast a complete unknown notable only for looking a bit like a young Carrie Fisher? Although the teaser doesn't confirm or deny it, her space-moth eaten garbs and well-used speeder suggest that she may not have been raised as New Republic royalty. Still, she looks to have a link to the wider galaxy - that black staff adorning her speeder has an end that looks noticeably like a lightsaber. Could this be a long-handle lightsaber, present in the (now non-canon) Expanded Universe in comics spanning millennia? Those cross-guards suddenly got a lot less groundbreaking. The staff is absent in the subsequent of her speeding towards some settlement, although that could easily just be due to tricksy editing.
