4. It'll Be Mostly Faces

OK, so this is cheating a little - this has been stated in rumours potentially started by leaks from Lucasfilm - but hey, it's still worth saying. While various shots of the Millennium Falcon being worked on a la Star Trek would probably suffice in getting people excited for The Force Awakens, it's not what fans really want from the trailer. Instead, as has been suggested on the internet for a couple of weeks now, the trailer will probably be a run-down of the film's main characters - expect quick cuts and screen-shot opportunity galore. The big question about the film, one that's been around since the cast was revealed back in April, has been about the roles the new actors are playing. Abrams and the rest of Lucasfilm are no doubt aware of this, and while it's unlikely the trailer will come with name cards revealing Daisy Ridley as Han and Leia's daughter (she has to be), at the very least we'll get our first glimpse of what her, Oscar Issac, John Boyega and co. look like. And also a shot of Mark Hamill's impressive beard.
