7. K-2SO Grenade Toss
K-2SO joins a long list of scene-stealing droids from the Star Wars franchise, but distinguishes himself from the competition by being a bit of a dick. He’s a reprogrammed Imperial droid, and a by-product of this tinkering means he says whatever’s on his mind.
His bluntness is milked for a few laughs, as is his laidback approach to violence. This is best seen in the moment he comes to aid Jyn and Cassian, and catches a grenade thrown by a stormtrooper while talking with them. Without looking he then throws it into a group of incoming troopers and finishes his speech while they blow up behind him.
K-2SO gets a couple of standout scenes throughout, but this is the standout of the standouts.
