5. Billy Bob Thornton
Another left field choice, but Thornton is back on top having worked wonders playing mysterious hitman Lorne Malvo in the TV series Fargo, a performance which was a masterclass of brooding, psychotic energy. He had an odd charm, but was primarily a dark, sinister presence. A similar feel would be fascinating for Fett. Thornton often gives the impression that he could kill you with his little finger, he's just choosing to let you live, and he has a sense of confidence which would bring a swagger to the role. The problem with Thornton is that hes such a big name that he'd be under considerable pressure. Hed have to deliver his Fargo performance and then some to live up to expectation, and given the competition for an older, wearier Fett he may not be the most popular choice. But as an actor he continues to surprise well into his 50s, and theres little doubt that hed give a unique, and certainly memorable portrayal were he given the call.
