Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Spoilers From The Concept Art
2. Are The Stormtroopers Bad Or Good This Time Around?
Okay, so if the Empire is now toast and the galaxy is free of its tyrannical reign by the events of The Force Awakens, why are there still stormtroopers wandering about? Well, many have surmised that the shiny new trooper suits that have leaked so far aren't actually stormtroopers in the original sense, but that they're part of a new security team headed by one of the film's new protagonists. It's as good a guess as any, and if you take a good look at all the concept art for the new look troopers, you'll notice that their helmets more closely resemble that of the clone troopers in the prequel films. Following that train of thought for a moment, it's entirely possible that the cloning facilities on Kamino have been restarted by the events of The Force Awakens, with the clone troopers being used for the purpose that the Jedi originally thought: as an army meant to protect the Republic. Either way, there's sure to be an interesting reason behind the continued use of the iconic uniform.
