Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Ways The Final Trailer Eased Your Fears

5. Adam Driver Can Pull Off A Scary Villain After All

Adam Driver is one of the hottest young actors in Hollywood. Having launched to fame as a result of his role on Lena Dunham's TV show Girls (in which the actor is, like, everybody's favourite character), Driver has appeared in a bunch of movies under a variety of guises; he can play sweet and cool just as well as he can play weird and jerky (and funny). That said, it would be untrue to say that it was easy to picture him as a Star Wars villain. The casting decision came as a huge surprise to many, most of whom felt both confused and irked that said actor had been positioned as something in the vein of a new Darth Vader. That all changed with this new trailer, though, in which Driver's character - Vader fanboy Kylo Ren - was unveiled in a clearer light. Now, it's possible to see what J.J. Abrams has been shooting for, and it's perfectly clear as to why they hired Driver for the job. As an obsessed Vader fan who is willing to do anything and kill anybody, he's genuinely scary. When he delivers the line "Nothing will stand in our way. I will finish what you started," it's actually chilling. And thus this trailer very quickly eases any doubts about his casting.
