3. Obi-Wan Will Be Revealed As Luke's True Father
A rumour that Obi-Wan is Lukes real father has been doing the rounds since the original trilogy, and fans think this theory might finally be proven right in The Force Awakens. They feel that Obi-Wans parental guidance of Luke - such as training him to be a Jedi and hiding the truth about his father is evidence of a darker secret at the heart of the series. Except that it really isnt, as the prequels proved beyond a doubt that Anakin is Lukes dad. Obi-Wan had no romantic attachment to Padme, so if they were having a secret affair they kept it really well hidden. Anakin would surely be able to sense that the child wasnt his either, and if it did somehow turn out that Luke wasnt his son that would ruin the whole mythology. It would undo one of the greatest plot twists of all time, and render Lukes journey to redeem his father entirely pointless. J.J. Abrams is also a Star Wars purist, so he knows just how much fans would detest such a revelation.
