Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Power Ranking Every Character

1. Luke Skywalker

Without knowing a great deal about Supreme Leader Snoke - the biggest potential wildcard in the Star Wars universe - the single most powerful figure in the entire new trilogy is also its most reclusive. Assuming he's not actually already dead -as persistent rumour-mongers would have us all believe - Luke is the most powerful Jedi in existence. He might not quite have ascended to the spiritual status of an Obi-Wan Kenobi (it wouldn't make sense for him too given his more problematic route to being a Jedi), but the prophecy of The Chosen One, and the prophecy that Luke could evolve into what his father had the potential to be is telling. He still has the same power capabilities as a Chosen One, and old age doesn't just compromise that, so he's still legitimately the most powerful being in the galaxy. And his power ranking counts doubly if the other most pressing rumour - that he's either already evil or is on that path - is true. If Luke is somehow wrapped up by the Dark Side (whether by coercion or choice), he will have followed Obi-Wan's self-prophecy of becoming more powerful than anyone could ever imagine. That's why the rumour is so appealing, and indeed why JJ Abrams has previously spoken about the appeal of turning him evil. What do you think? Who is the most powerful character in The Force Awakens?
