Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Ranking The New Characters Worst To Best
9. Supreme Leader Snoke
On the surface, it seems that Snoke will be the new trilogy's equivalent of The Emperor, lording over The First Order, continuing to manipulate Kylo Ren, and so on until, inevitably, he's defeated. It's guaranteed we'll all be learning more about him and his overall role in the bigger picture over the next few years. For now, though, with so much else going on in The Force Awakens, Snoke really had to take a backseat to more relevant characters. While Andy Serkis did his best to make the Supreme Leader someone fans shouldn't take lightly, most of what was learned about him came solely through the lip service paid throughout the film about just how influential he is, particularly in terms of his role in Ben's descent into becoming Kylo Ren. Hopefully, the films going forward can go a long way in developing Snoke as more than just a one-dimensional villain, so that the always reliable Serkis can really have something to dig his teeth into, but with the film having to balance fleshing out more important new faces with the old ones, he ended up lost in the shuffle by necessity.
