Kylo Ren made for an instantly great villain in The Force Awakens, bursting with impressive Force powers - some of which we'd never seen before - while also being prone to emotional outbursts and an inner-conflict between Light and Dark.

He obviously chooses a side when he kills his father, and we learn during the movie that he was previously trained by Luke at the Jedi Academy, before being seduced by Snoke and killing all of his fellow apprentices alongside the Knights of Ren. Kids, eh?

There's still a lot more to Ben Solo that we haven't learned yet, though. There's obviously a complex history there, to speak to why exactly he betrayed his family and joined the Supreme Leader, along with whatever connection he has with Rey, that should be explored further to flesh out the character even more.
