9. Vice-Admiral Holdo Watches The Escape Pods Destroyed For Ages

After the extended bombardment of the Resistance freighter by General Hux - who seems not to care about the ridiculous wastefulness of that kind of pointless shelling - the rebels are betrayed by DJ, who sells them out, despite being told by Poe Dameron that the escape pod plan wasn't going ahead.

The First Order latch onto that information with relish, shooting the transport ships down like fish in a barrel (though they do so painfully, idiotically slowly, given their firepower), until a very small number of ships survive.

It's only at that point that Vice Admiral Holdo drags herself away from the window, where she's just watched hundreds of her rebel allies being blasted to smithereens quite passively and decides to do something about it. Even allowing for panic and desperation, she watches for way too long before deciding to ram Snoke's ship.
