Steven Spielberg: EVERY Movie Ranked Worst To Best
9. Lincoln (2012)
A daring historical epic, Lincoln sees President Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis, who won an Oscar) fighting to abolish slavery and bring the Civil War to a long overdue close.
It's a slow-burn, but is patient in all the right ways, allowing the actors to craft fully-formed and complex characters whilst also tackling one of the most important moments in US history.
Day-Lewis is breathtaking in the title role, aided by the Oscar-nominated performances of Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field, and thanks to Spielberg's passion and attention to detail, Lincoln is a sweeping epic featuring some of the director's best ever scenery.
At two and half hours, it is by no means a short film, but is so thrilling and beautifully crafted that it's worth every second.
